Beach Bridal Makeup Essentials

Hello to all of my beautiful beach brides-to-be! I am back with some more goodies to share with you about your big day. Now recently we’ve talked about some pretty marvelous ideas for your perfect beach wedding dress. Today, I want to focus on your beautiful face! Your bridal makeup is just as important as your wedding dress is. Why? Well because the photographer will want to get close-ups of the extraordinary woman wearing that amazing dress, of course! Whether you are doing the makeup yourself or are thinking about hiring a professional to do it for you, it is still good to get some basic makeup knowledge that will guarantee that you are simply flawless from head to toe when you walk down that sandy aisle.

Makeup prepping

A couple of days leading up to your wedding, you want to make sure that you give your facial skin some awesome TLC. Going to the spa to unwind and treat your skin with a professional facial will help exfoliate and clear your skin of any unwanted toxins. Don’t have a spa appointment in your budget? Simply exfoliate with a nice mixture of olive oil, brown sugar and a hint of lemon the morning of your wedding. Both of these options will help your makeup blend effortlessly on your soft, glowing skin. Another great prepping idea is to make sure you are drinking nothing but water a week before your wedding. This will ensure that your skin is hydrated and full of life!

Choose the appropriate foundation

Picking the right foundation for your skin type is one of the most important steps to flawless beach bridal makeup! Your foundation is quite literally your FOUNDATION for how your makeup turns out as the finished product. As we all know, if the foundation isn’t secure, then the whole establishment is bound to collapse! The last thing I want is for you to look in horror when looking back on the pictures taken, so consider this your lifeline. If you have oily skin or a “T” zone, I suggest going for a more matte-based foundation to prevent oily spots from popping up. If you skin tends to be a little on the dry side, I suggest getting a liquescent foundation to ensure that you are getting the moisture your skin needs. However, whether you are oily or dry, it’s also important to choose a foundation that will repel humidity.

Leave the shimmer for your jewelry

I know you may feel inclined to add a little sparkle on your face as well, but you may want to just eliminate this step altogether. Take into perspective that the sun will more than likely be directly on you. Adding shimmer to your face is a sure-fire way to have you looking like Edward from Twilight in your pictures. If you do want a little something-something to enhance your foundation, try opting for a bronzer that is matte as well.

Secure the perimeters

The sun, along with the camera, will pretty much reveal every little nook and cranny of your face. So you want to make sure that you use a great concealer for your blemishes and any other imperfections you may have. I recommend buying your concealer at the same time you get your foundation and from the same brand.

Finishing touches

To complete your beautiful beach bridal makeup, make sure that you have purchased some translucent powder. This powder will help your face stay as matte as possible with no sign of oily spots. A setting spray also helps to set the makeup so that it won’t start to feel like its melting off of your face. Another tip that I will leave you with is to make sure ALL of your makeup is properly blended right. From the foundation to the eye shadow, it’s imperative that you take the time to make it look as even as possible.

With all these wonderful steps, I am confident that you will find the look perfect for you and totally rock it out on your big day!
