This is how the newlywed young Californians Annika and Xavi describe their wedding day. And we should believe them! Both of them being passionate travelers, and in love with the romantic charm of the ocean, they discovered the beauty of Sayulita, a small Mexican beach town, and they knew right away that this would be the perfect location for their wedding.
The young couple got in contact with local wedding and event planners who made sure their dreams came true. These professionals turned a quiet spot right on the beach into a gorgeous wedding venue against the splendid background of an exotic tropical landscape of lush palm trees, fragrant flowers, soft white sand and the sparkling blue of the ocean.
Despite of the somewhat carefree and ‘casual’ bohemian ambiance, every detail of the wedding had been very carefully thought of, organized, and of a high-class style. The evidence of this beautiful day we owe to the talented photographer Taryn Baxter.
Annika’s wedding gown was an elegant lace dress made by the trendy designer Gemy Maalouf. She paired her romantic look with a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes and a picture-perfect bridal bouquet of bold and flamboyant colors, designed by Francisco Salazar and provided by Lauren of Nicoella.
Her bridesmaids looked, too, very stylish in Flynn Skye black gowns of similar designs, and carrying the same beautiful bouquets of exotic flowers in deep green, red, fuchsia, cream, black and gold.
The wedding reception was also an unforgettable experience for the young couple, their friends and all their 125 guests. The picturesque Mexican palapa was lit by candles and strung lights and richly adorned with exotic flowers.
As Annika reports, “The speeches made us laugh hysterically and cry at the same time. Our friend sang Ray LaMontagne for our first dance which turned something we joked would probably be awkward into a very special part of the night. When it came time for dancing, the music was perfect, the tequila was endless and we had the time of our lives.”
